Design: revamped but recognisable

Although the Apple Watch Series 10 has an updated design, the overall style remains similar to previous generations, such as the Series 9. This means the smartwatch still has a rectangular design with rounded sides. However, the corners are now more rounded, giving the watch a softer look.

The main design change is in the dimensions. The Apple Watch Series 10 comes in two new sizes: 42mm and 46mm. The bands from previous models (41mm and 45mm) still fit these new watches, and vice versa. Despite the larger screen, the case remains slimmer and flatter, making the watch feel less bulky than, for example, the 49mm Apple Watch Ultra. In fact, the Series 10 is 30% thinner than the Series 9.

When it comes to material selection, you still have the option between aluminium (available in silver, pink and Jet Black) and titanium, which replaces stainless steel. The titanium versions are available in natural, gold and dark grey. The bands, such as the milanese and link bracelets, have been revamped to better match the colours of the new case.

Screen: Bigger and brighter

With the larger size also comes a bigger screen. In terms of screen size, the Series 10 approaches the Apple Watch Ultra models, but feels much more subtle on the wrist thanks to its thinner bezels and flatter case. The display now extends almost all the way to the edge of the case, significantly increasing the visible space.

The screen is not only larger, but also 40% brighter than that of previous models, providing better readability at different angles and conditions. This is due to the wide-angle OLED technology, which offers an improved refresh rate so that even in idle mode, seconds remain visible. Moreover, there is a new watch face that makes special use of these enhanced features.

Health features: Focus on sleep apnoea

One of the main new features of the Apple Watch Series 10 is the ability to detect sleep apnoea. If you wear the watch while sleeping, it can recognise patterns in your breathing via its new sensors and alert you to possible sleep apnoea. This helps to take timely measures to improve your health and sleep quality.

In addition, the Series 10 has improved speakers, which now allow you to play music and podcasts through the built-in speakers even without AirPods or headphones. This is a new feature, as previous models had speakers but were not capable of playing full music.

Faster charging

The charging time of the Apple Watch Series 10 has also been improved. The watch can now charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes, which is especially useful if you want to quickly charge the watch before going to bed for sleep tracking, for example.
